Bayern Munich staged one of the most dramatic comebacks of the Bundesliga season, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat Freiburg 3-2 in a thrilling encounter filled with late drama.

After a quiet first half that ended goalless, the game exploded into life immediately after the restart. Freiburg took the lead through Johan Manzambi, whose long-range strike left Manuel Neuer rooted to the spot.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 71st minute when Lucas Holer capitalised on a defensive lapse to volley into an empty net, putting Freiburg firmly in control and on course for a famous victory.

However, Bayern responded with urgency in the closing stages. Tom Bischof sparked the comeback in the 81st minute with a powerful strike from distance to reduce the deficit.

As the pressure mounted, Bischof struck again deep into stoppage time, finishing from the edge of the box to level the match and complete a remarkable individual performance that shifted the momentum entirely.

With Freiburg reeling, Bayern delivered the decisive blow in the final seconds. Alphonso Davies surged down the left flank before delivering a low cross into the box, where Lennart Karl arrived at the back post to tap home the winner in the 99th minute.

The late goal sealed Bayern’s 100th strike of the season and capped off an extraordinary comeback, underlining their relentless mentality and attacking depth.

Freiburg, who had produced a strong performance and created significant chances, will be left frustrated after letting a two-goal lead slip in the final minutes despite registering a competitive expected goals tally.

For Bayern, the victory strengthens their grip at the top of the Bundesliga, while also sending a strong message ahead of crucial fixtures in both domestic and European competitions.
