Kenya’s Daniel Anyembe may be set for a major career step, with Portuguese giants Sporting CP reportedly pursuing the Viborg FF defender. Sources close to the player have confirmed that formal talks between Sporting’s management and Viborg FF are already underway, signalling serious intent from the Lisbon-based club.
Bernardo Palmeiro, Sporting Lisbon’s sporting director, is understood to be a keen admirer of Anyembe’s profile, with the club eager to strengthen their defensive options during the ongoing transfer window. While Viborg FF are open to a winter exit, they have placed a €5 million asking price on the player a notable increase over his current Transfermarkt valuation of €2 million.
Anyembe, who has represented Kenya 13 times at senior level, joined Viborg FF in the summer of 2021 and extended his contract until 2028 following consistent performances. This season alone, he has featured in 21 matches across all competitions, cementing his reputation as a dependable presence at the back.
