Ulinzi Stars have announced the departure of head coach Danstan Nyaundo with immediate effect following a disappointing run of results in the FKF Premier League. The soldiers, who have endured a difficult start to the season, confirmed the decision in an official statement on Monday.

Nyaundo’s Tenure Ends Abruptly

Ulinzi Stars Football Club confirmed on Monday, October 27, that head coach Danstan Nyaundo has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect. The club’s management issued an official statement thanking the tactician for his “dedication, professionalism, and service to the team both on and off the pitch.”

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Nyaundo for his contribution to the Ulinzi Stars family and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.

The decision comes after a string of poor results that have seen the military side struggle for form in the opening fixtures of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League campaign.

Struggles on the Pitch

Ulinzi Stars’ latest defeat — a 3–1 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz on October 25 — proved to be the final straw for Nyaundo. The result left the team without a win in their last three matches.

Earlier this month, they fell 2–1 to Mara Sugar at home (October 5) and were held to a 0–0 draw by Kenya Police on October 1. Their most recent league outing against Bidco United was postponed, offering a brief reprieve that ultimately did little to change the club’s decision.

Ulinzi have struggled both offensively and defensively this term, showing flashes of organization but lacking consistency in front of goal.

Upcoming Fixtures

Despite the managerial shake-up, the soldiers must regroup quickly as tough fixtures lie ahead. Ulinzi are set to face Gor Mahia on Saturday, November 1, before hosting Shabana FC on Thursday, November 6.

Both matches will test the team’s resilience and provide a chance for the interim technical bench to steady the ship.

Search for a Replacement

The club has yet to announce Nyaundo’s successor, though reports suggest that an interim coach from within the ranks could take charge as the management evaluates long-term options.

Ulinzi Stars will be hoping for a swift turnaround to climb back into contention and restore stability after a turbulent start to their campaign.
