Borussia Dortmund made light work of Werder Bremen on Tuesday night, producing a dominant display to secure a 3-0 victory at a buzzing Signal Iduna Park and keep their momentum going in the Bundesliga.

The hosts wasted no time asserting themselves and were rewarded in the 11th minute when Nico Schlotterbeck rose highest from a corner to power a close-range header into the net. Julian Ryerson’s delivery caused chaos in the Bremen box, and Dortmund never looked back after taking the early lead.

Bremen tried to respond through quick transitions, with Justin Njinmah testing Gregor Kobel on a couple of occasions, but Dortmund’s back line remained composed. The home side controlled possession for long spells, with Felix Nmecha and Marcel Sabitzer dictating the tempo from midfield.

Dortmund went into the break with a deserved 1-0 advantage and returned with the same intensity in the second half. Chances continued to fall their way, and Bremen were forced to defend deep as pressure mounted.

The second goal finally arrived in the 76th minute. Sabitzer timed his run perfectly and finished calmly from close range after neat build-up play involving Nmecha, doubling Dortmund’s lead and effectively ending Bremen’s resistance.

With Bremen stretched and chasing the game, Dortmund found even more space. Substitute Serhou Guirassy put the result beyond doubt in the 83rd minute, smashing home from the centre of the box after a swift attacking move to make it 3-0.

Bremen showed flashes of fight, including a few late efforts from distance and set pieces, but Kobel and the Dortmund defence stayed alert to preserve a clean sheet. The final whistle confirmed a comprehensive home win, one built on early authority, midfield control and ruthless finishing.

For Dortmund, it was a near-perfect night in front of their fans, while Bremen were left with plenty to reflect on after struggling to cope with the hosts’ intensity and movement.
