Dortmund let top-four chance slip as Bodoe Glimt fight back again
Borussia Dortmund missed a golden opportunity to climb higher in the Champions League table after surrendering a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 with a fearless Bodoe Glimt.
Borussia Dortmund were left frustrated at Signal Iduna Park after being held to a 2-2 draw by a spirited Bodoe Glimt side who refused to be beaten.
Julian Brandt gave the hosts the perfect start midway through the first half, finishing calmly after a rapid counter attack to ignite the Yellow Wall. Dortmund appeared in control, but defensive lapses once again haunted them as Bodoe Glimt levelled late in the half, Haitam Aleesami heading home to make amends for his earlier error.
The home side struck quickly after the restart, Brandt reacting fastest from close range to restore Dortmund lead and put them back on course for a crucial three points that would have lifted them into the top four.
Yet the visitors showed remarkable resilience. With Dortmund wasteful despite creating chances for fun, Jens Petter Hauge capitalised on a loose ball inside the box, stabbing home to equalise once more and stun the home support.
Dortmund continued to pour forward, generating nearly three expected goals across the match, but were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Nikita Haikin and their own lack of composure in front of goal. Bodoe Glimt, meanwhile, defended bravely and even pushed for a famous late winner.
When the final whistle sounded, it was Dortmund who felt the disappointment most. A draw that felt like a loss in Germany, and a reminder that dominance means little without ruthlessness at this level.
