Lewandowski’s Time at Barca Running Out

Lewandowski’s Time at Barca Running Out

Robert Lewandowski’s spell at Barcelona is nearing its final chapter, with top European and Gulf clubs lining up to sign him on a free when his contract expires in 2026.

Robert Lewandowski’s long-term future at FC Barcelona has become one of the most sensitive issues inside the Catalan club, with growing belief that his time at the Camp Nou is approaching its final stretch.

The Polish striker is tied to Barça until the end of the 2025/26 season, and the expectation within the boardroom is that he will walk away once his deal runs out. With the club keen to refresh the frontline and inject more youth into the squad, Lewandowski is increasingly viewed as a player moving toward the end of his cycle.

As news of Barcelona’s stance continues to surface, interest in Lewandowski has risen sharply both within Europe and beyond.
According to reports from Fichajes, five clubs have already placed him firmly on their radar: Fenerbahce, AC Milan, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.
All of them are eyeing the possibility of landing a world-class striker without paying a transfer fee, a scenario that only boosts their motivation.

Strong Interest from Europe

Among the suitors, Fenerbahce are said to be the most aggressive. The Turkish giants expect to offload Youssef En-Nesyri in January and want a proven goalscorer to replace him immediately. Lewandowski, with his elite experience and unmatched penalty-box instincts, is seen as the perfect fit.

AC Milan are also monitoring the situation closely. The Rossoneri want a marquee forward who can lift their competitiveness without forcing a massive financial spend, and Lewandowski’s availability ticks every box.

Manchester United explored the possibility as part of their rebuild, but reports indicate the Premier League side have stepped back due to the striker’s €32 million annual salary, which they consider unsustainable.

Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, remain an intriguing option. Diego Simeone has long admired Lewandowski’s work ethic, physicality, and ability to adapt to demanding tactical systems qualities highly valued at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Saudi Factor

Outside Europe, Al Nassr have tabled a massive financial package, reportedly surpassing previous salary benchmarks in the region. Their proposal includes both a lucrative contract and an ambitious sporting project built around him.

Even so, Lewandowski is said to have requested time before making any decision. His priority remains staying in Europe for as long as possible, leaving the door open for both the top European contenders and Barcelona, who are quietly preparing for a future that may no longer feature their star striker.
