After clinching a 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev midweek, Bayern Munich secured another narrow victory as they returned to Bundesliga action against Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday.
Leroy Sane’s strike on 71 minutes was the only difference between the Bundesliga leaders and 17th-place Bielefeld as Bayern looked to be stuck in second gear once again.
Thomas Müller set up Sane, who handed the home side the lead with a great shot from just outside the area but the goalscorer found himself immediately taken off for Serge Gnabry.
The win saw Julian Nagelsmann’s side clutch on to the top of the table as they inched one point clear of Dortmund, while Bielefeld were condemned to remain in the regelation spots.
